Balmore Golf Club was established in May, 1907, and was described by its designer, six-times Open champion Harry Vardon, as ‘one of the best inland courses in Scotland’. Set amidst uninterrupted views of the Campsie Fells, the course measures a relatively modest 5,517 yards. But don’t be fooled by its length. Although it has a par of 66, the SSS is 68 and the course boasts some of the trickiest Par 3s and demanding Par 4s in the country. In recent years, the club has completed an ambitious greens-refurbishment programme, bringing them up to USGA standard. They have been widely acknowledged as among the best and trickiest greens in the West of Scotland.
