Diary Event

Sadly we have to report the death of Past Captain Jim McAnsh.
Jim joined the club as a junior in 1940, that's right 80 years ago.
A very special man and golfer, he was Club Champion in 1956, and Captain in 1979/80. 5 years ago the club celebrated his 75 years of membership, with a great night in the Clubhouse, attended by family friends and many members.
That night Jim regaled us with stories from the past, of travelling by bus and walking up Glenorchard Road or across the fields to get to the club.
He also mentioned some of the many trophies that he won over the years, but always giving hisg his playing partners credit too.
Much to Jims delight the Kirkintilloch Herald covered the evening and he proudly showed the pictures to his neighbours and family.
Jim had been looked after in a care home for some time, unfortunately he was stricken with Covid-19 last week and passed away yesterday Sunday 10th of May 2020, at the grand age of 92.
Our thoughts are with all his family at this sad time.
